Gwen's Latest Release: A New Chapter

Stefani, who originally launched the album back in November, is now sharing a more comprehensive experience with her fans, including acoustic renditions of each track and the heartfelt new addition.

The Collaboration With Finneas

The single was co-written with the talented Finneas, known for his impactful songwriting and production. In the song, Stefani expresses the undying nature of love with poignant lyrics:

“You can push me away, go ahead and make your mistakes, I won’t judge you / Nothing that you can say if you want me to hate you, I’m still gonna love you.”

A Song About Love

In an interview, Stefani elaborated on the essence of 'Still Gonna Love You', stating, “This song is about love. A love that can’t be broken, a love that no matter what is always going to be there, and a love that can always bring you back home.” These words resonate as a truly relatable portrayal of unconditional love.

Insights on ‘Bouquet’

In a previous conversation with fans, Stefani provided insights into the making of Bouquet, her first solo project in seven years. She explained her studio routine, highlighting how family obligations shape her creative process:

“I don’t go to the studio every day and just self-indulge in like, ‘What do I have to say today?’ It’s like, hey, they’re at school, I got three hours so let’s see if I can get down there to write.”

The Influence of Yacht Rock

Stefani also touched on the influence of yacht rock on her music. Reflecting on her childhood, she shared: “I always remember sitting in the back of my mom’s car and all of the songs playing [on the radio] were just so good. I mean, it was just the popular music of the time, which was classic rock, but I call it ‘yacht rock’.”

She further explained how nostalgia plays a role in her songwriting: “I think the older you get, the more nostalgic you get. I feel like I’ve played out all the ’80s stuff – like, I can’t even listen to it anymore so much. I want to write music that feels like this [yacht rock] music because there’s more chords in it, there’s more melody, and I really feel like I ended up getting there with this album.”

No Doubt's Return

In other news, Stefani's original band, No Doubt, reunited in January for a performance at the LA FireAid benefit concert. This was their first show since their appearance at Coachella 2024. Reflecting on the reunion, Stefani remarked:

“The No Doubt thing was so crazy. It’s not like we made a decision to not do anything, or not hang out or talk. Everybody’s lives just happened.”

She candidly shared her thoughts on the interval since their last performances: “The time we stopped [in 2015] was when I was going through my horrible family breakup – I don’t like to say the word ‘divorce’, because it’s just such a disgusting word. But my life just blew up, it really did.”

Stefani added, “A lot of people are like, ‘Why did it take so long [for No Doubt to reform]?’ But when you have a family, eight years goes by like that. To heal from what happened, I mean it’s still happening, I’m still trying to get through it.”
