Shirley Manson's legendary polka dot dress from the music video of Garbage's hit song "I Think I'm Paranoid" has been auctioned off for a staggering $31,000! This sale was part of a fundraising auction organized by the nonprofit initiative Give A Fuck Los Angeles and Julien’s Auctions, with all proceeds aimed at supporting the victims of the recent Los Angeles wildfires, which ignited on January 7.

In addition to Manson's dress, the auction featured a variety of other unique items. Fans had the chance to bid on exclusive ensembles worn by Hayley Williams of Paramore in the “This Is Why” video, outfits from her opening performance for Taylor Swift's “Eras” tour, Chappell Roan's iconic "Hot To Go" stage outfit, and even a signed Epiphone DG-335 signature electric guitar from the renowned musician Dave Grohl.

Shirley's Heartfelt Message

After the dress was sold, Manson took to the band’s official Facebook page to express her gratitude. "Oh. My. GLOB!!!!!!!! This Paranoid dress raised over 31 THOUSAND DOLLARS for @gaflosangeles. I am absolutely GOBSMACKED," she exclaimed.

She also sent a special message to the generous donors. "You are angels – every last one of you – but ESPECIALLY the person who bought my wee dress. You have done something wonderful in the world for people who have lost so much – in some cases EVERYTHING – in the LA fires."

"Acts of love, acts of kindness and acts of great generosity - they have the power to SHIFT ENERGY and change the world." — Shirley Manson

Manson concluded her message with a touching note, emphasizing the importance of community and kindness: "Thank you a million times over. Love trumps Hate. Community is everything. Let’s keep holding each other's hands. PS. To whoever bought my dress, I have a gift for you."

Shirley Manson's Reflection on the Dress

In a heartfelt Instagram post prior to the auction, Manson expressed her hopes that the dress would find a loving new owner. "I’m really hoping it goes to someone wonderful, someone who loves our band. Someone who will give generously for a good cause. I want you to know that it was hard to let this wee dress of mine go."

She added, "I hope whoever secures the winning bid will appreciate her. Sending out so much love to everyone in LA affected by the fires."
