Sublime Releases First Covers from Expanded Tribute Album
Explore the exciting new covers from Sublime's expanded tribute album, featuring a star-studded lineup and heartfelt tributes.
Sublime's Second Act Continues
Sublime’s journey is far from over! Next month, the legendary band will launch an expanded, 20th anniversary edition of their tribute album, Look at All the Love We Found: A Tribute to Sublime, set to release on May 9 through Sublime Recordings and Jakob Nowell's SVNBVRNT Records, Bradley Nowell’s son. This album is not just a celebration of their music but a heartfelt tribute that combines the original spirit of Sublime with a fresh perspective from new artists.
The album will feature an exclusive premiere of "Garden Grove" by Jakobs Castle and an acoustic rendition of "Ebin" performed by Jakob Nowell along with SVNBVRNT artists Jesse James Pariah and Zayno.
A Diverse Lineup of Artists
This remastered edition is packed with contributions from over 30 diverse artists, including eight tracks that have never been released before. You can look forward to songs from familiar names like:
- Zac Brown Band with "Wrong Way"
- Descendents with an acoustic version of "Hope"
- G Love and Special Sauce with "April 29th 1992"
- Slightly Stoopid featuring Stick Figure with "Slow Ride"
The original album featured iconic contributions from Jack Johnson, Pennywise, Michael Franti, and many others, and fans can expect these classic tracks to reappear in the anniversary release.
"Sublime was a soundtrack to my younger years — their music was raw, real, and full of soul," shares Zac Brown. "Covering 'Wrong Way' is my way of paying tribute to a band that broke boundaries."
A Heartfelt Legacy
Jakob Nowell, who took on the lead vocal role when Sublime reunited in 2024, expresses the emotional weight of this album. "Sublime is and always has been a family first and foremost. The loss of my father was a devastating event to many and was only outweighed by the outpouring of love from the numerous musicians whose lives were affected by the work of Sublime."
The proceeds from Look at All the Love will benefit Agape Families, a non-profit organization based in Oregon, dedicated to helping families impacted by incarceration.
Exciting Collaborations and Anticipation
Sublime drummer Bud Gaugh shares his enthusiasm for the project: "I love this album! Friends and family come together to pay tribute. And who doesn’t love Fishbone?! I mean, that version of 'Date Rape' … it’s better than what we did with it!"
Fletcher Dragge from Pennywise adds, "Seeing this new rebirth with Jake at the helm has been nothing less than amazing. It just feels right and natural."
Sublime will celebrate this new release by taking over the "Skratch N’ Sniff" radio show, debuting some of the unreleased tracks during the special “Sublime 4-20 Smokeout” on April 20. Fans can tune in across 60 markets, including Los Angeles' ALT987 and DC101.
Upcoming Music and Performances
Sublime is also hard at work on a new album, with the first single expected to drop this summer. They have several exciting shows lined up, including a visit to the iconic Red Rocks outside Denver and appearances at major festivals like BeachLife, BottleRock Napa Valley, Boston Calling, and the revived Warped Tour in the Washington, D.C. area.
